Fundraise for us

We are in urgent need of funds to support the running costs of our short-break respite centre, and also the general day-to-day running of the charity.

We would love to hear from you if you can raise funds for Smile. Whether holding a quiz at your local pub or organising a cake sale at work, your support could make a real difference.

Organise your own event or activity

Fundraising is great fun and incredibly rewarding. With some enthusiasm and a few willing helpers, you can do something amazing and raise money to help disabled children in your community. It’s always best to choose something you enjoy doing, and work out how you can turn your hobby or passion into a money-making idea!

  • Check out our fundraising ideas page for some inspiration
  • Contact us to let us know what you'd like to do.
  • We have sponsor forms and posters, lots of tips and ideas, and can help promote your activity.

Donate via text by texting SMIL20 £5 (or any amount you wish to donate) to 70070.

Get sponsored

There is no end to the list of events and activities you can get sponsored to take part in! Why not choose something you've always wanted to do?

There are plenty of runs and races across the country to join, including the Great South Run, just a few miles from where we will be building our new short-break centre. Perhaps you and your colleagues might like to skydive or bungi jump in aid of Smile, or a simple sponsored silence could prove a great success.

Get in touch for a sponsorship form and download our sponsorship tips to help make the most from your activity. You can set up your own fundraising page for Smile on justgiving. Don't forget to visit our events page for details of our forthcoming activities.

Become a ‘Friend of the Smile Centre’

We are looking for volunteer members to join a “Friends of the Smile Centre” committee group, to run income-generating activities throughout the year. Members will need to commit to meeting monthly and helping to plan activities and events that might include dinners, open gardens, fairs, quizzes or balls. This is a wonderful opportunity to have fun with new friends, and do something rewarding for a very worthwhile local cause.

Nominate our cause

You can nominate Smile Support & Care as your chosen charity at school, work, church or at your sports or social group too. We are appealing to golf, bowls and tennis clubs, to name but a few, to think of us next time they select their charity of the year or undertake a fundraising activity.

Most supermarkets hold a community budget for local causes, and shoppers can nominate the charity they wish to benefit. Do ask next time you are doing your weekly shop, and put Smile forward!

Represent Smile at a local event

We would love to hear from supporters willing to attend local events such as fetes and fairs on our behalf. Perhaps with some friends you might like to hold a tombola, raffle or fundraising game to generate not only funds but also awareness of our cause and what we do. Most events will welcome a charity stand at no cost, and we can supply banners, buckets and t-shirts.

Donations in lieu of presents

If you're celebrating a birthday, wedding or anniversary you might like to consider asking friends and family to make a donation to Smile instead of buying a present. If donors complete a gift aid declaratin we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated at no extra cost to them through the Gift Aid scheme.

Donations in memory

Giving in memory of a loved one is a very special way to remember someone close to you. Not only will you be helping us continue caring for local disabled children, it will help you look towards the future and do something positive in their honour. We are grateful to anyone wishing to give to Smile in this way.

Community talks

If your group, club, school or business is looking for interesting and informative speakers to come along to a meeting or assembly, then get in touch to find out more about how Smile can help. We are keen to educate and raise awareness about what we do.

We can adapt the talk to suit the audience, and will make it enjoyable and interesting. The talk can be as long or as short as you would like, and if there is anything that you would specifically like us to talk about, such as fundraising ideas, we would be happy to do so.

Fundraising materials

We can provide Smile branded collecting tins and buckets, as well as Smile t-shirts to support you in your fundraising. We also have promotional literature, newsletters, display boards, large canvas banners as well as pop-up banners for you to use. We can produce posters for your activity and have sponsor forms, gift aid forms, counting sheets and can provide a letter of authority to authorise your activity.

Collect for Smile

We encourage supporters to collect for Smile, and can help to arrange a supermarket or street collection near you. We would love to hear from individuals or groups of people wishing to collect, and can supply tins, buckets and t-shirts.

House to house collections are also a great way to raise funds for Smile. By delivering envelopes to the houses in your street, then collecting them days later hopefully filled with cash, your neighbours will know more about our great cause, and extra income will have been raised towards our work.

Schools fundraising

We would love to raise awareness of our charity within local schools and colleges. Why should your school support Smile?

• We care for children and young people living in local communities throughout Hampshire and West Sussex

• By supporting and learning about the work of Smile, school children and students can learn a lot about how charities care for local people.

• Schools and colleges can have loads of fun and learn important skills planning and running fundraising events for Smile.

There are many ways for your school to support Smile. We can give a talk to your pupils, or your school may like to take part in one of our campaigns or events, such as Raise a Smile. Perhaps pupils might want to organise their own fundraising event such as a dress down day or cake sale, in aid of Smile.

THANK YOU for your interest in helping to raise funds for our work, we greatly appreciate any amount you are able to raise!
